Caribbean Stud Poker: Gameplay and Bonuses
This game is an alternative to Texas Hold’em Poker and is for the people who do not like the bluffing aspect of regular Texas Hold’em. Unlike in classic poker, you play 1on1 against the dealer instead of other players, somewhat like Blackjack. It, therefore, has the same basic rules as regular poker, except that it is much simpler and requires less meticulous thinking.
An initial hand of 5 cards will be dealt to both you and the dealer. Your cards will be visible to you while only one of the dealer’s cards is revealed.
The minimum bet and maximum bets are 1£ and 100£ respectively. You will have to bet an “ante” before the cards are dealt and all subsequent bet amounts are based on that initial bet.
The game then progresses based on whether you decide to “fold” upon seeing your hand or continue to gain by placing a “call” bet. The “call”, as a rule, is always double the “ante”. Therefore, by playing on, you end up wagering up to 3 times your initial bet. The goal is essentially to have a better combination of 5 cards than the dealer.
The ranking for the hand is the same as poker, with the high card (ace) being the lowest ranked hand while the royal flush is the highest.
Caribbean Stud lasts for only one round and hands are compared after the first draw itself. The call and the ante are regarded as separate pots, and you cannot necessarily win both pots in a specific round.
The dealer’s hand further has to qualify to go head to head with the player, which means the dealer has to have an ace-king high card hand. If the dealer’s hand does not qualify, they fold, and you win the ante, and the call is returned to you.
If the dealer qualifies, then the winner is decided based on the ranking of the two hands. If you outrank the dealer’s hand, you will obtain the ante and also get a multiplier on your call bet winning.
The multiplier ranges from anywhere between 1-to-1 with a pair to 200-to-1 with a royal flush.
Caribbean Stud Poker: RTP and Payouts
With an element of risk of 2.555%, this game provides you with a reasonable RTP if you play the right strategies. Thus it does not measure too high on the volatility scale, and you can ensure some cashback on most cases.
